F-1 Employment Options
Curricular Practical Training (CPT)
An internship or practicum that is an integral part of an established curriculum and is directly related to the student's major area of study.
Cap-Gap Extension
Extends an international student's F-1 status between April 1 and Sept. 30 for qualified students who have applied for H-1B.
Severe Economic Hardship (SEH)
Off-campus work authorization based on severe economic hardship caused by unforeseen circumstances beyond the student's control.
