Employee Benefit Overview

As a St. Cloud State University and State of Minnesota employee, health and security are vital to your success. That's why we offer a wide range of plans designed for benefit-eligible employees and eligible family members—providing valuable coverage and resources to support your health, well-being, and everyday needs. This includes vacation, sick leave, and Retirement plans. Eligibility depends on several factors, including employment classification, length of service, and the terms outlined in your collective bargaining agreement or employment plan.

St. Cloud State University offers a comprehensive benefit package through the State Employee Group Insurance Program (SEGIP) for benefit-eligible State employees and eligible family members. This benefit package may include the following: Medical and Dental Insurance, Vision Plan, Life Insurance, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, Pre-Tax Benefits (Flexible Benefits and Transit Expense Plan), among other competitive and optional benefits.

Open Enrollment is conducted annually, when employees may change their benefits. Outside of the Open Enrollment period, no changes may be made except in the case of a qualifying family status change.
