Zoom is Minnesota State’s online web conferencing system and collaboration tool open to students, faculty and staff. It provides multimedia capabilities that can be used for many activities such as interactive classes, group work, online office hours and meetings.

Getting Started

  • Sign in to Zoom with your StarID and password. 
    • Web-based
    • Install Zoom Video Communications applications, a desktop client and an Outlook plugin, on University-owned computers through Software Center (Windows) or Self Service (Macs). 
    • To use the Zoom mobile app, choose the SSO (Single Sign On) option and enter 'Minnstate' for your company domain, then click continue.
  • Get started with Zoom.

Safeguards to Prevent and Stop Disruptions

It is recommended that you consider these safeguards for your Zoom meetings to prevent and/or stop unwanted disturbances during a Zoom call such as distribution of inappropriate/offensive content or an unauthorized user’s access to non-public information (often referred to as “Zoom-bombing").
