Minor Options

St. Cloud State offers many minors that complement an undergraduate degree in education.

While adding a minor to your program of study is optional, it can be a great way to enhance your knowledge and skills in a specific area. It is also a way to add a credential to your resume that can help you stand out from the crowd, increase your marketability, and make you a better-prepared teacher in the classroom.

Below is a list of some common minors chosen by education students. This is not an exhaustive list and you and your academic advisor may have other ideas as well for minors that would pair well with your major coursework.

In addition, the Teacher Development department within the College of Education and Learning Design offers an undergraduate certificate in Instructional Technology. This is also a popular addition to undergraduate education degree programs at St. Cloud State.

If you are thinking about pursuing a minor or certificate, be sure to consult with your advisor to determine how these options fit into your overall degree plan. It is also a good idea to check with the department where the minor is housed regarding any admissions standards or application procedures.
