Here in the College of Education and Learning Design, sometimes it might sound like we are speaking our own language. We do abbreviate a lot around here, but be assured we are not speaking in secret code. Here is a list of commonly used acronyms that translates the abbreviations (formed from the initial letters of other words) into the phrases that they represent.
CAL | Communication Arts and Literature: a major offered through the College of Liberal Arts that prepares students to teach grades 5-12 how to experience language and communicate through reading and writing | |

edTPA | A teaching performance assessment developed by faculty and staff at Stanford University. The assessment requires students to demonstrate mastery of knowledge, skills, and abilities required of a beginning teacher and is required by state law for teaching licensure in Minnesota. | |
