Since 1869...

The College of Education and Learning Design enjoys a long and rich history of preparing teachers and other educational professionals. Our programs are state and nationally accredited. Beginning in 1869 as Third State Normal School, the focus on teaching and learning was a hallmark of our existence and continues to be prominent in our mission.

We prepare future teachers, administrators, and other education personnel at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Through five academic departments and several support centers, students enjoy many opportunities to pursue a variety of career paths in the field of professional education.
