Commencement ceremonies are offered twice through out the year, end of Fall and Spring semesters. Students can choose to walk in one ceremony and graduate in another. The ceremonies are an opportunity for students to share the excitement of their academic achievements with their family and friends, as well as with University faculty and staff. Participation in commencement is not an indicator of degree completion.
While graduation and commencement do often occur around the same time, there is a difference between the two:
Graduation: The conferring or awarding of an academic degree or diploma.
Commencement: A celebratory ceremony of academic accomplishments.
