Student Success Story

Intern Steve Yang with others at a Minnesota Lynx game

Steve Yang with the Minnesota Lynx

Steve Yang began working part-time with the Minnesota Timberwolves as a Marketing Assistant in January 2022. As he approached the completion of his undergraduate degree, Steve needed an internship to fulfill his final requirements. He worked with Timberwolves and Lynx leadership to convert his Marketing Assistant role with the Lynx into an internship, which was successfully approved.

In his role, Steve managed game-day operations, focusing on game presentation and event setup, as well as fan engagement and community events such as Pride festivals, art fairs, and the Minnesota State Fair. One of his most memorable experiences with the Lynx was helping coordinate and participate in two jersey retirement ceremonies.

Steve Yang was a Marketing Assistant Intern with the Minnesota Lynx while earning his bachelor's degree in Sports Management.
