2025-26 Costs Per Term
These are the tuition and fee rates for Fall 2025 through Summer 2026. All rates are subject to change. Fees apply to all courses taken for credit, including online courses. Find more details about student fees.
The Be a Husky Rate provided to all admitted, undergraduate out-of-state Huskies automatically reduces tuition costs for students coming to SCSU from other states (Note: Wisconsin and North Dakota have separate reciprocity agreements).

Full-Time Enrollment
Flat-rate tuition allows full-time undergraduate students taking 12-18 credits to pay one flat rate for their tuition. This is also known as banded tuition. In that 12-18 credit band, students can take more credits without paying more tuition, increasing their ability to graduate on time and save money.
Depending on your program, you may have to pay additional differential costs.

Part-Time and Summer Enrollment
Undergraduate students taking fewer than 12 credits per semester pay on a per-credit basis. Summer courses are also billed on a per-credit basis.

Differential Tuition
These additional costs are added on a per credit basis whether you’re a full-time student or part-time student, during the academic year or over the Summer, and for all residencies.

Residency and Reciprocity
Students may prove their eligibility for in-state tuition by demonstrating domicile in Minnesota. Students have the burden of proving domicile for in-state tuition purposes.
Domicile defined: A domicile is a person's true, fixed and permanent living place. Domicile is the place to which a person intends to return after temporary absences. A person may have only one domicile at a time.
How do I apply for in-state tuition?
Fill out and submit the Change of Residency Status form found on the Records and Registration website.

- Students from Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Ohio may also be eligible for tuition reduction using the Midwest Student Exchange Program.
- All students granted a graduate assistantship at St. Cloud State University pay resident tuition.
