Applying for Graduation

When to Apply

One semester prior to the term you expect to be completed with all degree requirements. Failure to submit the application by the deadline will result in a delay in reviewing and processing your application. 

How to Apply

Step 1: Review your Degree Audit Report

Review your degree audit report to ensure it correctly reflects the requirements you have been advised to complete.

Your degree audit report will be used by the Office of Records and Registration to verify that you have completed all requirements for graduation. 

If there are any incomplete requirements or red X’s on your degree audit report at the end of your graduation term, your graduation will NOT be finalized and your degree will not be recorded on your transcript. 

If any changes are needed, please contact your advisor as soon as possible to have your degree audit report updated. Updates should be sent from your advisor to the Office of Records and Registration.

Step 2: Complete Application

If you have previously applied to graduate and need to move your graduation term please contact the Office of Records and Registration at: registrar@stcloudstate.edu.

Graduation application fee

The graduation application fee will be charged to your student account within 1-2 business days after application has been submitted. Payment needs to be made through eServices. Failure to do so will result in your diploma being held by Records and Registration.

  • Undergraduate degrees: $30
  • Master-level degrees: $30
  • Doctoral-level degrees: $35

Veteran benefits
Please allow 7-10 business days for your benefits to be applied to the graduation application fee and review your billing statement at that time.
