Department of Environmental and Technological Studies

We prepare our graduates for careers in which they will define, assess and solve our society's environmental and technological problems. We give them experiences that promote environmental and technological literacy and equip them to understand the connections between science, technology, society and the environment.

We do that with an interdisciplinary curriculum, connections to professional organizations, a strong system of industry-centered advisory boards and a variety of learning opportunities and experiences in the classroom, laboratory, field, internships and research.

Our faculty and students play an active role in Project Lead the Way, a national effort to build STEM skills and literacy.

We excel

  • Husky Make It Space

The Husky Make It Space launched January 2018 in 116 Headly Hall. The space designed as a collaborative space to bring design ideas to life. It offers 3D printers, laser engravers, design software and advanced graphic printers.

  • CTE License and Workshops

Our annual workshops help teachers and prospective teachers add technical knowledge and meet the requirements of the CTE license.
  • Project Lead the Way

We help students on local, state and national levels develop the skills needed to succeed in the global economy through PLTW.
