Work Based Learning and CTE Summer Workshops
St. Cloud State University offers two options for taking courses:
- Non-degree seeking student
- Admission to master's degree in Technology Education (required for financial aid and TEACH Grant)
Information about a grant/loan program for those admitted to a graduate program (Master’s Degree or Graduate Certificate) can be found on studenaid.gov.

Summer 2025 Workshops
Dates: July 7-11 (online)
Course Description: Training for teachers on ACE Net CNC training. Once trained the teachers will be able to use the training for their manufacturing classes. Supplies will be provided for the schools to teach the program. HAAS and Forest Scientific mills will be available for schools to use in their classes.
Dates: June 23-24
Course Description: This course will provide basic Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) knowledge and skills. The focus will be on Autodesk Inventor. Students will learn how to create basic designs, working drawings and assemblies. Intergrading CADD into curriculum will be part of the course.

Dates: June 25-27
Course Description: This course will look at how to use the equipment on the mobile lab. New equipment has been added to the program. Time will also be spend developing and reviewing curriculum that helps to address state and federal science, technology, engineering and mathematics standards.
Final curriculum project is due August 1.

Date: July 15-17
Course Description: Study and application of principles of production as they relate to manufacturing. An exploration of different materials and processes in manufacturing to meet human needs and the impact on society and the environment. Curriculum development for students in manufacturing.
This 3-day workshop will:
- Explore some hands on activities related to teaching materials and processes.
- Discuss and review major content areas for manufacturing.
- Examine license requirements to teach Technology Education and Career & Technical Education.
- Provide time to develop curriculum related to manufacturing
Final curriculum project is due August 1.

Dates: July 29-31
Course Description: The course will offer students the opportunity to do hands-on activities in the construction and concrete /masonry industry. Information trends and best practices in the field. The application to the classroom through curriculum will also be part of the course.
This 3 day workshop will:
- Explore hands on activities related to teaching concrete and masonry. Discuss and review major content areas for construction.
- Examine license requirements to teach Technology Education and Career & Technical Education.
- Provide time to develop curriculum related to construction with focus on concrete & masonry
Final curriculum project is due August 15.

Dates: June 1-August 4 (online)
Course Description: This course provides guidance on the development and submission of CTE content portfolios and/or Master’s portfolio. This course is available for 1-3 credits and can be repeated for the different CTE content areas of communication, construction, manufacturing, and transportation.

Course Description: This course will offer students tours of a variety of manufacturing facilities. Tours and conversations with owners and management of these companies will allow teachers to learn about career options for students. Learning about different manufacturing careers will allow you as a teacher to bring real world examples into your classroom.
Tours will be done in your local community – must attend 9 a.m. virtual meeting on July 15.

ETS 573 and ETS 583 are waived for teachers holding a 2-year associate degree in area, 5 years of related work experience or certificate in content area.

Course Description: This course is designed to provide content for CTE license in manufacturing. This course combined with ETS 573 and the Core Skills courses will lead to a CTE license. ETS 572 and ETS 582 are waived for teachers holding a 2-year associate degree in area, 5 years of related work experience or certificate in content area.

Course Description: This course is designed to provide content for CTE license in manufacturing. This course combined with ETS 574 and the Core Skills courses will lead to a CTE license. ETS 574 and ETS 584 are waived for teachers holding a 2-year associate degree in area, 5 years of related work experience or certificate in content area.

ETS 575 and ETS 585 are waived for teachers holding a 2-year associate degree in area, 5 years of related work experience or certificate in content area.
