Hello.
In this video, we'll walk you through how to understand your degree audit report,
also known as your DARS.
Your degree audit report is a record of your progress toward graduation.
It shows everything you need to complete from liberal education goals to major requirements.
The DARS uses color coding to help you track your progress.
Green means complete, red means not yet
fulfilled, and blue means in progress.
At the top, you'll see university graduation requirements.
The pie chart shows you how close you are to the 120 credits needed for a bachelor's degree.
To the right of the pie chart is your GPA bar, which shows your current GPA.
You'll need at least a 2.0 to graduate.
The horizontal bar in the center tracks your upper division credits.
You'll need 40 credits of three or 400 level
coursework in order to graduate.
The student information section includes
any prior testing you've completed
like ACT, SAT, ACCUPLACER, or language placement.
Next, you'll see the racial issues graduation requirement
followed by any transfer credit you may
have transferred to SCSU.
The right hand side shows your transfer credit while the left hand side shows the course equivalents at St. Cloud State.
Below any transfer credit you may have are the 10 goal areas of the liberal education program.
Each goal area will show as complete,
unfulfilled, or in progress.
For unfulfilled goals, the DARS lists course options.
Click on a course to see more details,
like a course description, when it's offered, and whether it requires prerequisites.
At the bottom of the DARS, you'll find your major requirements.
These are often broken into blocks
showing required courses and electives.
It's highly recommended that you meet with your adviser to understand your major's course sequence and graduation plan.
