Returning to SCSU After a Break

Welcome back to St. Cloud State University! We are glad to have you back and we are here to help you achieve your academic and personal goals. On this page, you'll find the simple steps for a smooth re-entry to the Husky Life.

Graduate students: Contact Graduate Studies to initiate your return to SCSU.
Undergraduate students: You do not need to reapply to the university to continue your degree. Follow these steps to easily return to SCSU after a break.

Returning Student: St. Cloud State University defines a returning students as one who took a semester or more off and are returning to continue classwork. Returning Students do not include PSEO students transitioning from high school.

Academic Probation or Suspension: Students returning after an academic probation or suspension need to consult their academic advisor to develop a clear plan for regaining good academic standing.

How to Return to SCSU

Create/Reactivate your StarID

You will need an active StarID to access your online resources such as eServices, email, D2L, and Navigate. You can reset your password or activate your StarID on the MinnState's StarID website.

Confirm Your Major

Are you still pursing the same major? You can update your major declaration by filling out the Change of Major form.

Send Official Transcripts

If you have attended other non-MinnState institutions while you were away from St. Cloud State University, have your official transcripts sent to Records and Registration.

If sending by mail:

If you’ve attended a Minnstate institutions, use the Minnesota State Electronic Transcript Evaluation Request to have your transfer credits evaluated.

If you have not taken any courses during your break, no action is needed.

Apply for Financial Aid

If you are planning to use financial aid, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
