Specializations are a great way to focus your business major, develop a professional skill set, utilize open electives in your degree, or continue your education. Specializations are open to all St. Cloud State students. Below is a list of the specializations offered in the Business School.

Business Intelligence is the process to analyze and transfer data into information or knowledge to help better-decision making.

To earn a Business Intelligence specialization a student must complete the following courses, and maintain a 3.00 GPA average in specialization classes.

An Insurance specialization prepares individuals to work in the insurance industry or insurance-related fields such as human resources, risk management, financial planning, accounting, and the medical profession.

The Planning and Community Development undergraduate certificate is tailored to students seeking a specialization and/or improving their credentials in the field of planning and community development.
You will learn how to identify issues confronting your communities and design strategies for change through community planning, urban and regional planning, citizen participation, community design, economic development, advocacy and sustainable development.

The Professional Selling Specialization was created to meet labor market growth in areas related to professional selling and sales management areas. The Professional Selling Specialization is open, via application process, to all St. Cloud State University students who have declared and been admitted to their major.

The Real Estate specialization will give students an introduction to real estate principles, valuation techniques, and the laws around leasing, selling, owning and managing real estate. The courses focus on both residential and commercial real estate and have been approved by the Minnesota Commissioner of Commerce for real estate salesperson pre-license education (90 hours) and appraiser trainee pre-license education (60 hours).
