State-of-the-art equipment available in the Fitness Center and programs designed for people at every level of fitness. Our instructors are trained to push you to your limits, while meeting you at your ability level. They give you the confidence and guidance to improve.

Class Descriptions

Cycle & Abs : Looking to decrease stress while torching a ton of calories in a short period of time? If so, indoor cycling is your new best friend. Pedal your way through a high intensity sprint, hill and interval cycling workout as we hit the bike for some power-based training. Finish off the class with a killer ab routine.

POUND™: A full body cardio jam session, combining easy to follow moves with strength training and Pilates while using weighted Ripstix™. Expect to de-stress while burning a ton on energy! 

Muscle Pump : Balance your fitness routine by dedicating 1-2 days lifting weights! This muscle-fatiguing class works the entire body, torches calories, increases metabolism and keeps your heart pumping. The repetitive, progressive style of Muscle Pump makes tracking progress and seeing strength gains clear and keeps you coming back for more!

75 Minute Cycle/Power 45 Mix up : Lack time during the week to get your workout in?  Join us for a 75 minute high energy class. We will Cycle 10-12 miles then hit the floor for high intensity circuit routine. 

Zumba ™: Skip the workout – join the party! Inspired by Latin music, Zumba moves, grooves, and tones your entire body. This killer core workout gets your heart pumping and spices up your hour at the gym. 

Strong by Zumba™: Stop counting the reps. start training to the beat. STRONG by Zumba ®  combines  body weight, muscle conditioning, cardio  and  plyometric training  moves synced to original music that has been specifically designed to match every single move. In each class you'll burn calories while toning arms, legs, abs and glutes. Plyometric or explosive moves like high knees, burpees, and jumping jacks are interchanged with isometric moves like lunges, squats and kickboxing.

Yoga: Exhilarate your body and mind. Yoga instruction will emphasize safe alignment in postures, while enhancing whole-body strength, flexibility and balance. Classes include centering, warm-ups, sun salutations, standing and seated poses and relaxation. Bring your practice alive and meet new people along the way.

Power Yoga: A vigorous vinyasa style of yoga. A series of yoga poses linked together by the breath. You will build stability, strength and stamina as balance poses and inversions are introduced. Power Yoga encourages working at your own level while continuously challenging their mind, body and spirit.

Pilates: A conditioning routine designed to build flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips and back. It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing, and developing a strong core or center, and improving coordination and balance.

Power 45: Are you busy and overcommitted?  Cut the fluff and get maximum results with a 45min training session. In this fast paced H.I.I.T circuit class you will enhance your cardiovascular and muscular endurance! You will be instructed to rotate through 5-6 stations, each exercise will be timed for 35-45 seconds. Cardio bursts include rowing, skiing, kettlebells, battling ropes, sleds, and biking. Effective, simple & FUN. 

Restorative Pilates: How balanced is your fitness routine? Many of us engage in hard butt-busting workouts while neglecting to restore muscles. Restorative Pilates combines elements of yoga based poses to reduce chances of injury while increasing mobility and balance.

We've designed private workout classes for clubs, athletic teams, residence halls, sororities and academic classes. We can do it for you too!

Become an Instructor

Certification and Application

We can help you become certified as a group exercise instructor at St. Cloud State University.

Components of the comprehensive weekend warrior course include:

A nationally certified exercise trainer will teach prospective instructors to lead:

  • Other fitness trends 

At the completion of the class, St. Cloud State participants can try out to join our Group Exercise team.

Group Exercise Instructor Training

Become a St. Cloud State certified Group Exercise Instructor. Components of the comprehensive weekend course includes: anatomy, counting & cueing, class format, and choreography. Trainees will be led by certified exercise trainers to teach hi/lo impact cardio, step, body sculpt, cardio kickboxing, yoga, Pilates, cycle, and many other new trends in fitness. At the completion of the class, St. Cloud State participants will have an opportunity to try out to join our Group Exercise team. 

Full attendance is required.

Weekend Training Agenda

Participants learn the basics of counting, cueing, Hi/Lo and anatomy.

  • 6-9 p.m. Oct. 25

Review counting and cueing. Introduce Kickboxing, Cycle, Step, Yoga, Pilates, Toning, Power 45, H.I.T. (High Intensity Training), Bootcamp Principles and class format.

  • 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 26
Review counting and cueing. Introduce Yoga and Pilates. Interview those trying out to become a St. Cloud State Group Fitness Instructor. Take anatomy quiz. Practice for practical assessment.
  • Noon-5 p.m. Oct. 27

Practical Assessment

Perform a 5-7 minute demo routine.

St. Cloud State students: $75
Community members: $150
  • Payments are to be paid in full at the end of the informational meeting.
  • Cash, check and credit cards are accepted.
  • Fee includes three days of intensive training, training manual, study materials, coupons to group exercise classes and one-on-one instruction.

Sign-Up Options

This program trains St. Cloud State students group exercise instructors. It is also open to employees and community members seeking to teach group exercise classes.
