You will gain an introduction to techniques for assessing and teaching students who are moderate to severe on the autism spectrum. You will study the current research, learn how to assess behavior and how to plan for challenging behaviors.
Your studies will include instruction on how to adapt and modify math lessons for students with special needs and basic techniques for reading and language arts to teach students with special needs in the classes. You must have a teaching license to gain admission into this graduate certificate program.
