We're here for your continuing education and professional development
St. Cloud State has several affordable and convenient graduate offerings for current educators that can expand your expertise, add a secondary area of expertise or prepare you for educational leadership roles. Many programs offer online courses over the summer – mid May to early August.
SCSU's Pathway to 18 programs are approved by the Minnesota State's Concurrent Enrollment Credentialing.
Candidates for Pathway to 18 certificates must either hold a master's degree or pair a certificate as an elective path with an initial master's degree. Certificates are beneficial to community college instructors to strengthen credentials and expand fields of teaching.
Each of the following graduate certificates are designed for Social Studies teachers to enhance their knowledge and training through advanced content. Completion of the certificate fulfills the path-to-18 requirement to teach Senior-to-Sophomore or College-in-the-Schools courses. The certificate can be taken on its own or in combination with the Social Studies Education master's degree.
Each Social Studies certificate boasts:
This program provides certification for in-service teachers who need 18 credits in order to teach college-level courses in the high schools according to accreditation requirements.
