Service Scholarships, Awards and Fellowships for Students

Rich Murray Volunteer Service Scholarship

This annual $500 scholarship recognizes a St. Cloud State student committed to giving through volunteerism. This may be service with an established organization or individual acts of service over a significant period of time.

The scholarship is made possible by a generous gift from Richard E. Murray, former director of the Career Center. Murray started this scholarship because he believes in these ideals: the value of education; the value of giving back a little of what has been given; and the belief that everyone will need the help of others at some time. Apply by Huskies Scholarship deadline annually.

Soroko-Ditlevson Service Scholarship

The Soroko-Ditlevson Service Scholarship recognizes a St. Cloud State student who has demonstrated significant involvement in campus and/or community service.

This $500 scholarship is made possible by a generous gift from Mary Soroko and Andy Ditlevson. The donors have funded this service scholarship because they both experienced the transformational power of higher education. Prior to earning their degrees, each had limited life choices. Both were first generation college students. Apply by Huskies Scholarship deadline annually.

Minnesota Campus Compact President's Awards

There are three award categories:

1. Student Leadership Award (student or a student organization)

2. Civic Engagement Steward Award (faculty/staff)

3. Community Partner Award (community organization)

Any St. Cloud State employee or student may nominate an individual or group. Recipients are chosen by the St. Cloud State president.

Send questions to beknutsonkolodzne@stcloudstate.edu. Application deadline: First week of February annually.
