Minnesota Indian Teacher Training Program (MITTP)

The Minnesota Indian Teacher Training Program provides scholarships, mentoring and support for American Indian students starting, continuing or completing a teacher preparation program or another eligible program focusing on any area of Pre-K-12 employment.

Eligibility Requirements:

1. Priority is given to American Indian students who are tribally enrolled and then to first and second generation descendants.
2. St. Cloud State University (undergraduate or graduate) admissions with MITTP eligible major.
3. MITTP Scholarship application available below.
4. Free Application for Federal Student Aid/FAFSA with financial need that remains unmet by government guidelines and determined by St. Cloud State Financial Aid Office.
5. By applying for MITTP you are agreeing to participate in required MITTP support activities at St. Cloud State University, which includes a mentoring seminar with St. Cloud State faculty, Darlene St. Clair.
6. In order to participate in the MITTP program, applicants must meet the requirements of their academic program, and your FASFA completed.

Submit the application including attachments to The American Indian Center at SCSU.
