Dr. Scully joined our department in the fall of 1988. During his tenure at St. Cloud State, he served two terms as department chair and was actively involved with updating our curriculum.

Mr. Hubbard joined our department in the fall of 1985. During his time with us, he played a major role in our tutoring program by finding and mentoring our math tutors.

Their contributions to students, the department, and the University will be missed. We wish them the best in their new adventures.

  • On May 23, the Sauk Rapids-Rice High School team of Jack Grabinski and Jack Luukkonen took top honors at the 2019 St. Cloud State Calculus Showcase. Their presentation was titled "Suspenseful Calculus". The team's advisor was math teacher Chuck Kruger.

The showcase, sponsored by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, is an invitational competition for area high school students. Teams of two students presented their work on applying calculus to a topic of their choice which is not normally covered in the mathematics classroom.
