St. Cloud State physicist John Harlander is on a team chosen to study
Earth's atmosphere, National Space and Atmospheric Administration
(NASA) officials announced Friday.
The Ionospheric Connection (ICON) team
will develop instruments for an Explorer satellite mission to be
launched in 2017 from Goddard Space Flight Center, northeast of
Washington D.C.
Drew LeBlanc’s storyline for this season has elements that would make for an epic novel.
The
story arc includes: a comeback from a potential career-ending injury, a
decision to return to school instead of turning pro, helping his team
win a share of its first WCHA regular season title, student teaching
spring semester at St. Cloud Apollo High School, being the first player
to be named WCHA Player of the Year and WCHA Student-Athlete of the Year
in the same season and leading his team to its first Frozen Four
appearance.
The Excellence in Leadership Committee announced that twenty five students have been selected to receive the 2013 Excellence In Leadership Award. The College of Science and Engineering had four students earn the campus-wide honor.
Ling Li and Mayur Mohite, graduate students from the Engineering Management program joined with Jared Williams and Joseph Kucan undergraduate students from the Herberger Business School to take home top prize in the APICS Great Lakes District Case competition in Chicago. The completion is open to teams from across the nation.
