Community Advisory Board
St. Cloud State University values strong partnerships with the communities it serves. The Community Advisory Board creates meaningful opportunities for community members and university leaders to connect, share perspectives, and collaborate on issues that impact the university and the region. Through six focused subcommittees, board members provide valuable insights that help inform decision-making and support SCSU's commitment to student success, community engagement, and regional growth.
Committees
The Community Advisory Board is organized into six subcommittees that bring together community members and St. Cloud State University Cabinet leaders:

- Investment
- Reputation
- Stewardship
- Workforce
Meeting regularly throughout the year, these groups engage in open dialogue and collaboration, providing valuable insights and feedback that help shape decisions and strengthen the university's connection to the community.
Celebrating Short-Term Wins
Since its inception in early 2026, the Community Advisory Board is on track to achieve the goal of 60 short-term wins by the end of the year.
With strong community engagement, we can expect positive impacts on fundraising and community investment in the university.
Energizing Financial Support
Strengthening the future of the university does not come without cost and through thoughtful planning and the generosity of our community leaders, five new investment funds have been created and are already making an impact.

Founding Members and Inaugural Meeting
Over 20 community, business and city leaders joined together with St. Cloud State University leadership on Feb. 2 for the inaugural meeting of the St. Cloud State Community Advisory Board (CAB).
The Board, co-chaired by CentraCare CEO Ken Holmen, M.D., and Granite Partners Founder and CEO Rick Bauerly, will help the University drive forward projects that are of mutual interest to the campus and community.
“We are so fortunate to have such support and enthusiasm for the University in the Greater St. Cloud region,” said St. Cloud State President Dr. Gregory Tomso. “There’s so much we can accomplish by working together. This a huge step forward for St. Cloud State.”
