Renee Hiller
Renee L. Hiller serves as Vice President for Human Resources and Workplace Experience. In this role, she provides executive leadership and strategic direction for the University's people, culture, and workplace initiatives. She oversees human resources operations, talent acquisition and retention, employee engagement, compensation and benefits, employee and labor relations, workplace culture, and programs that support an exceptional employee experience.
Ms. Hiller advances the President's vision by fostering a high-performing, inclusive, and people-centered workplace that empowers faculty and staff to thrive. She leads strategies focused on attracting, developing, and retaining talent while ensuring alignment with the University's mission, values, and strategic priorities. Working collaboratively across campus, she supports organizational effectiveness, leadership development, workforce planning, and employee well-being.
Through a commitment service excellence, and continuous improvement, Ms. Hiller helps create an environment where employees are engaged, supported, and equipped to contribute to student success and the long-term strength of the University. She also ensures compliance with employment laws, regulations, and institutional policies while promoting a culture of accountability, respect, and belonging.
Career Background
Since joining the Pack in 2022, Ms. Hiller has leveraged nearly 20 years of human resources experience in higher education, along with 10 years of corporate HR experience spanning healthcare, staffing services, and manufacturing.
As a human resources executive, she has expertise in policy development, talent acquisition and hiring practices, professional development, legal compliance, employee and labor relations, benefits administration, and strategic planning.
Ms. Hiller served as the Midwest Regional Director on the CUPA-HR National Board from 2019 to 2023 and has held the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification since June 2011.
