Dr. Katherina Pattit
Dr. Katherina Pattit serves as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. As the university's Chief Academic Officer, she provides strategic leadership for all academic programs and initiatives, advancing excellence in teaching, learning, scholarship, and student success.
Working closely with deans, faculty, and staff, Dr. Pattit establishes institutional priorities and guides curriculum planning to ensure a high-quality educational experience. She champions faculty and student research, supports innovation in academic programming, and fosters a culture of scholarly engagement across the university.
Dr. Pattit also oversees academic support and enrollment services, helping to strengthen student achievement and institutional effectiveness. In addition, she ensures compliance with state, regional, and federal academic and educational requirements while advancing the university's mission and strategic goals.
Career Background
Katherina Pattit joined St. Cloud State University in 2022 as Dean of the Herberger Business School. Prior to joining St. Cloud State University, Dr. Pattit was a professor and department chair in Ethics and Business Law at the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota.
Dr. Pattit’s academic background and research interest is in investor decision making, socially responsible investing, as well as the influence of shareholders on corporate social responsibility. Beyond ethical decision making, Dr. Pattit has written about business ethics more generally and the history and future of business education. Her research is published in leading publications such as the Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Behavioral Finance, Business and Society, Business and Society Review, Business and Professional Ethics Journal, Journal of Comparative International Management, and other international journals.
