Holly Schreiner

Holly SchreinerHolly Schreiner serves as the Athletics Director for St. Cloud State University, a position she has held since 2022. As the leader of Huskies Athletics, she oversees the administration, compliance, student-athlete success, facility operations, and strategic leadership of 19 sports programs.

A Lifelong Husky

Ms. Schreiner began her career at St. Cloud State in December 2000 as Director of Budgeting and Sports Camps within Campus Recreation. She later served as Associate Director of Operations at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center before joining the Athletics Department in 2005 as Director of Compliance. Throughout her tenure, she has advanced through a series of leadership roles, including Associate Athletics Director of Compliance and Student Services and Senior Woman Administrator, developing a reputation for collaborative leadership and a steadfast commitment to student-athlete development.

In 2022, Ms. Schreiner was appointed Interim Director of Athletics while simultaneously overseeing compliance, student services, finance, and administration. Her extensive institutional knowledge, leadership experience, and dedication to the university led to her appointment as Director of Athletics. Over the course of her career, she has provided direct oversight and administrative support for nearly every athletic program at St. Cloud State.

Record of Success

Under Ms. Schreiner’s leadership, Huskies Athletics has experienced significant competitive and academic success. During her first four years as Director of Athletics, St. Cloud State captured conference and regional championships in six sports and celebrated an individual NCAA national champion in wrestler Nick Novak in 2023. The Huskies also achieved their highest Learfield Directors’ Cup finish since 2011-12, placing 44th nationally among NCAA Division II institutions during the 2022-23 academic year. In that same four-year span, St. Cloud State student-athletes earned 123 All-America honors and 16 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America recognitions, reflecting the department’s commitment to excellence both in competition and in the classroom.

Personal

Holly is a native of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. She and her husband Scott reside in Cold Spring, Minnesota with their daughters, Gracyn and Mara. Scott is the co-owner of the St. Cloud Rox of the Northwoods League.
