Dr. Brandie Yale
Dr. Brandie Yale serves as Associate Vice President for Strategic and Presidential Communications at St. Cloud State University. In this role, she leads the university's strategic communications, including internal communications, media relations, marketing, and presidential communications. Working closely with university leadership, she helps translate institutional priorities into clear, transparent, and human-centered communications that build trust, engagement, and understanding across campus and the broader community.
Brandie's work supports the president's vision by helping communicate strategic priorities, highlight the university's impact, and strengthen connections among students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners. She focuses on ensuring university communications are aligned, accessible, and responsive during both opportunities and periods of change.
Professional Experience
Brandie joined St. Cloud State University in 2024 after a career in higher education leadership and communications in Texas.
Prior to SCSU, she served as Director of Strategic Communications at The University of Texas at San Antonio, where she led communications for university-wide strategic initiatives and institutional priorities. Before that, she was Assistant Dean in the College of Technology at the University of Houston, helping guide communications and operations during a period of growth that included expansion to a second campus.
Earlier in her career, Brandie held positions in admissions and academic advising, experiences that continue to inform her student-centered approach to communication, leadership, and organizational strategy.

Personal
Outside of work, Brandie is an avid fiber artist who spins homespun yarn and creates knitted and woven garments and artistic pieces. She also enjoys camping, hiking, yoga, and watching Star Trek with her son. Brandie lives with her family in Sartell, Minnesota.
