Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Our Beloved Community
The Courage to Celebrate Diversity

The annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration
honors the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

On this day we commemorate Dr. King's dream of
a multiracial nation united in justice, peace, and reconciliation.

The MLK Community Celebration is a series of community events held on Saturday and Sunday prior to the signature Monday event on Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Saturday events showcase activities for families and center the winners of the Art and Essay contest. Sunday activities are designed to honor the legacy of Black Churches for their role in the U.S. civil rights movement, and to provide opportunities for praise and worship within and between various local faith communities in the area. The MLK Community Celebration on Monday morning includes food, activities for the kids, identifying the humanitarian award winners, opportunities to participate in an annual service project, and our keynote speaker.
