Plan to arrive in St. Cloud no later than Monday, August 20, 2018.

A check-list for your trip to St. Cloud State:

  • Make travel arrangements -- including airline and shuttle reservations -- early.

  • Your travel options may include:
  • Confirm airline reservations 72 hours before departure.
  • Practice packing your luggage. Check your airline's luggage restrictions.

  • Purchase a collapsible luggage cart.

  • Place personal items such as 1-20, DS-2109, passport with visa, airline tickets, a change of clothing, a book or magazine, snacks, toothbrush/toothpaste, snacks and medications in a carry-on bag.  

  • Label luggage like this:

Items to carry and keep with you at all times

You should carry some basic information and documents in your carry-on bag. It is also a good idea to carry some essential items with you (change of clothing, medications, toiletries, etc.) just in case your luggage is misplaced.

Review Permitted and Prohibited Items listed at the Transportation Security Administration.

  • Passport (keep a photo copy in your carry-on luggage)
  • I-20 (keep an additional photo copy in your carry-on luggage)
  • I-94 (optional) print a copy at: https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/recent-search
  • All documents from acceptance packet
  • Airplane tickets
  • Emergency contact information (your family, SCSU emergency phone numbers, etc.)
  • Prescriptions
  • U.S. Currency, and/or Travelers Check to pay for initial expenses; bank draft account information and/or credit card for tuition, fees, housing payments, etc. (see Financial Matters).
