Artist Statement

I’ve recently been interested in repeating and presenting the same information in different ways. Through layering, flattening, and doubling imagery and linework, I’ve been working with how a concept of an object is simultaneously interacting with the physicality of it. jpeg_1 is a series of darkroom prints of shoes, overlapped with the printed remnants the bottom of the same shoes. Presenting image documentation of the object, along with its previous interaction with the print paper starts to question what part of the object actually exists, the cognitive image of a it, its physical interaction with its environment, or the final documentation presented.
