The Department of Art is located in Kiehle Visual Arts Center (KVAC) on the eastern edge of campus overlooking the beautiful Mississippi River. KVAC is home to 10 different art making labs including our Maker Space, three, computer labs, two art galleries, faculty offices, student studios, and more.
We prepare students for long-term success in the visual arts. Students are able to take a dynamic range of classes in graphic design, art education, studio art and art history within a close-knit community of students and faculty. Our department is a place for critical thinkers, tastemakers, rule breakers, and problem solvers.
Our faculty members are award-winning artists, designers, educators, scholars and writers. Students work hand-in-hand with these active artists and scholars who bring their experience and excitement to the classroom.
