Applying for the Program
Applying for the St. Cloud State at Alnwick program is really simple! All interested students are encouraged to start an application as soon as possible to complete the necessary program requirements in a timely manner.
Program Deadlines:
- Fall: April 1st
- Spring and Winter Break: October 1st
- Summer: February 1st
- Spring Break: December 15th
Eligibility:
- Cumulative GPA Requirement: 2.5
- Open to non-St. Cloud State students
- Class Eligibility: Spring Semester of 1st year and later
- Disciplinary record may also impact eligibility
When should I study abroad?
Anytime! But the earlier the better because you are able to take general courses that apply to the Liberal Education Program (LEP/MnTC). Otherwise, check with the Education Abroad office to see if faculty in your program are planning to teach classes in Alnwick!
What happens if I start an application but decide to cancel or postpone my program?
You should contact the Education Abroad team as soon as you make your decision to cancel or delay your program. If you cancel before the deadline, the process is simple. Cancelling after the deadline can include cancellation fees and additional charges depending on when you cancel.
Is the application fee refundable?
The application fee is non-refundable. We encourage extremely committed students to pay the application fee for this reason.
Can I participate if I do not meet the GPA requirement?
All students who participate in education abroad programs must be in good academic standing (not on academic suspension or warning). We have a GPA appeal process for students who are interested in studying abroad but may not meet the GPA requirement. Please contact the Alnwick program manager to walk through the process.
Can my spouse, child, or dependent accompany me on the program?
Only students enrolled in the program are eligible for participation. Your family and friends are welcome to visit before, during, and after the program but are not able to accompany you for the full length of the program unless officially enrolled. Please contact the Education Abroad office for more specific questions.
Can I participate more than once?
Yes, but keep in mind there are a limited number of courses offered at Alnwick so you may be required to repeat some of the courses. Many of our students will participate in a short-term program and return for the semester.
I am a PSEO student, can I study abroad in Alnwick now, or in my first semester in college?
