Digital Accessibility Overview
Digital accessibility benefits all Huskies and produces better content overall.
All content—including documents, emails, presentation slides, meeting notes, images, blog posts, web pages, videos, etc.—is legally obligated to be accessible for people with disabilities.
The POUR acronym encompasses the four qualities of an accessible experience under Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and the final ruling under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
- Perceivable: information can be seen or heard by all learners
- Operable: content and tools can be used with different inputs
- Understandable: content and navigation are clear, consistent, and predictable
- Robust: content works reliably across devices, browsers, and technologies
