Community Member Access & Accommodation
Welcome!
St. Cloud State University is committed to providing an inclusive, accessible, and welcoming environment for all guests and visitors. We strive to ensure that everyone has equitable access to university programs, events, services, and facilities.
If you anticipate needing accommodations during your visit, we encourage you to submit a request as early as possible. Advance notice allows us to review your request and make every effort to provide appropriate accommodations and support.
Before You Submit a Request
Many university-sponsored events, programs, and activities include specific instructions on how to request accommodations. Event organizers and hosts are responsible for providing accessibility information and accommodation request procedures as part of their event communications.
If you are attending a specific event, first review the event information or contact the event host to determine whether accommodations should be requested through the event's designated process.
Use the Community Member Accommodation Request for:
- General visits to campus
- University-sponsored activities that do not have a published accommodation request process
- Situations where accommodation request information is not otherwise provided by the event host
Request Accommodations
Community members needing accommodations should complete the Community Member Accommodation Request and provide as much information as possible about your accessibility needs so we can better support your participation.
Examples of accommodations may include:
- Alternative format materials
- Assistive listening devices
- Dietary accommodations related to university-sponsored events
- Mobility access arrangements
- Seating accommodations
- Other accessibility-related supports
ASL Interpreting and CART Captioning Requests
Guests and visitors requesting American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting or Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) Captioning services should complete the ASL Interpreting and CART Request separately from the general accommodation request form.
We encourage submitting requests as early as possible and require at least 10 days' notice before the requested service date. Early requests increase our ability to secure qualified service providers and ensure effective communication access.
If additional accommodations are also needed, submit the Community Member Accommodation Request.
