Transfer Admissions

Transfer Pathway: Accounting B.S.

Transfer Pathways allow you to complete your Transfer Pathway degree at a Minnesota State Community College and transfer to St. Cloud State University without losing credits or taking extra courses. You are guaranteed junior status and given assurance that all 60 of your credits will count toward the related bachelor’s degree.

Notes: In order to qualify for the CPA certification, students need 150 semester hours. It is recommended that students reach the 150 semester hours with a minor, double major, or a MBA degree.

Students who start a Transfer Pathway program in Fall 2021 or later will also need to complete the Racial Issues Graduation Requirement (RIGR). 

Admissions Requirements

To be admitted to HBS Upper Division Status in the BS Accounting major, students will have to satisfy the following requirements:

  • A transfer GPA of at least 2.5 and 40 earned credits
  • Average GPA of 2.5 in ACCT 291 and ACCT 292 or equivilants
  • The following courses (or the equivilants/substitutions) must be complete: 
    • ACCT 291 Accounting I 
    • ENGL 191 Introduction to Rhetorical & Analytical Writing
    • CMST 192 Introduction to Communication Studies
    • MATH 106 Finite Math or MATH 112 College Algebra (need grade of “C-“ or better)
  • The following courses (or the equivalents/substitutions) must be completed or enrolled in:
    • ACCT 292 Accounting II
    • IS/STAT 242 Business Statistics (need grade of “C-“ or better)
    • BLAW 235 The Legal, Ethical and Global Environment of Business
    • CSCI/CNA 169 Computers in Society
    • ECON 205 Principles of Macroeconomics
    • ECON 206 Principles of Microeconomics
