6 Steps for Admitted Transfer Students

Review Your Degree Audit Report

Once admitted to St. Cloud State, an official evaluation of your transfer credits and transcripts will be completed. Results are available in your Degree Audit Report (DARS), which can be accessed through eServices under the Grades and Transcripts tab.

Apply for Financial Aid

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for financial aid. We encourage all students to apply, regardless of whether they think they qualify. Financial aid can help cover educational expenses through grants, scholarships, work-study opportunities, and student loans.

Explore On-Campus Housing

Complete Huskies Advising & Registration

All new students are required to complete a Huskies Advising and Registration appointment. During this one-on-one meeting, you'll connect with your advisor, discuss your academic goals, and register for your first semester of classes.

Attend Orientation

You've chosen St. Cloud State. Now it's time to prepare for what's next. Orientation is your opportunity to connect with fellow Huskies, explore campus life and academics, and begin your college journey feeling prepared, supported, and excited for the year ahead. Don't forget to get your picture taken on Husky Plaza and rub the nose for good luck!

Join Your Pack for Welcome Weekend

Kick off your first semester at St. Cloud State with Welcome Weekend. Connect with fellow Huskies, explore campus life, and discover opportunities to get involved before classes begin. You'll start your first semester feeling connected, prepared, and ready to succeed.

Reviewing Your DARS

After transfer admittance is complete, your DARS will show you:

  • How your classes/credits have transferred to SCSU
  • How those classes/credits count toward your Liberal Education, major pre-requisites, major requirements
  • What you still need to complete in order to satisfy SCSU’s graduation requirements

For courses from a previous institution that did not transfer into SCSU as you expected, login to eServices, click on "Academic Records", click on "Transfer Review" and submit a request with your question. You will be instructed to attach additional documentation such as:

  • Course outline/description (Minnesota State institutions only)
  • Course syllabus (preferred)
  • Sample assignments/exams
