Yaya Simakov

Yaya is a Russian-American filmmaker. "Keep It Quiet", Yaya's directing debut, was nominated for Best U.S. Short at the Palm Springs ShortFest and won Best Live Action Short at the Warsaw Film Festival and Performance Award at the USA Film Festival.

Yaya writes and produces for other directors, and has a background in lighting and cinematography. Other festival screenings include Ann Arbor Film Festival, Mill Valley Film Festival, HollyShorts, BendFilm, DC Shorts, Indie Memphis, Denver, Minneapolis St Paul, Cucalorus, Drama, Tirana, Tehran and others.
