Pre-New Student Convocation

Students will begin gathering in the Husky Plaza (between the PAC and Atwood) at 9:00am. Faculty are welcome to begin meeting students there.


9:30-10:15

New Student Convocation: President Wacker, Provost Gregory, Faculty and Staff Welcome New Students to SCSU

Location: Ritsche Auditorium, Stewart Hall

Please join us for the New Huskies Convocation, an event designed to welcome students into the academic community of St. Cloud State University.  This event has several interconnected goals:

  • To build new and reinforce existing SCSU traditions;
  • to situate academics at the center of the student experience;
  • to help students understand that they belong at SCSU;
  • to contribute to improving student success and retention; to help students understand the roles and responsibilities of being a member of the SCSU community; and
  • to promote positive connections among faculty and students before classes begin.

We encourage you to attend in regalia or SCSU red and black, but welcome you to the event as you are.

Smithsonian Traveling Exhibition, THE BIAS INSIDE US, at SCSU

Location: Gallery, Atwood Memorial Center

St. Cloud State University was chosen as one of ten communities to host this Smithsonian Traveling Exhibition.  The goal is to help visitors understand and counter their implicit biases.  As part of the event, participants will engage in dialogue that will increase empathy, help create a more inclusive environment and build community.  There will be a brief introduction to the Exhibition, as well as access to and scheduling of the Exhibition.
