Spanish Teaching

Our Spanish teacher preparation program provides students with first-rate training for a teaching career in K-12. Our students acquire knowledge of the subject matter and gain academic skills and tools for becoming leaders and innovators in the classroom. Spanish is one of the most spoken languages in the world and the demand for bilingual speakers in the United States has been steadily growing.

Our small classes are taught by experienced faculty, who are supportive of student needs. We use a variety of delivery methods: face-to-face, hybrid, online asynchronous and synchronous. Our faculty are fully committed to the principles of diversity and inclusion. In addition to a rigorous academic curriculum, we extend learning opportunities into the community through service-learning and volunteer experiences.

Students often choose to pair their professional license in Spanish K-12 with another license such as English as a Second Language (TESOL) or Elementary Education. The job placement for Spanish teachers is 100% and many of our graduates find teaching jobs even before graduation.
