Tips to Prepare for Your Exam

  1. Get plenty of sleep and eat well in the week before your test. If you are overtired, you may have poor concentration and good nutrition allows for optimal performance.
  2. Enter the Zoom meeting/arrive at the test center at your appointed time. This will ensure you have plenty of time to complete your exam.
  3. Try to relax. Remember that your college or university is administering this test to help you. 
  4. No one passes or fails a placement test, but it’s important to complete the test using your best effort, so you and your college have an accurate measure of your academic skills.
  5. The Biology test is 60 minutes for 50 questions. Test time officially begins when the first question is displayed.
  6. The Math test is untimed and will be either 20 or 40 questions, depending on the accuracy of answers. Those that score high enough will automatically move on to the second part of the test. If you are unhappy with your scores, you may retest once within a 12-month period.
  7. There’s no time limit reading test, so you can focus on doing your best to demonstrate your skills.
  8. Pay attention to the instructions before you begin the test.
  9. Remember to answer every question and confirm your answer before you proceed to the next question.
    • You will not be able to change your answer or return to the question after submitted.
