Parking at Public Safety

Parking Rules & Regulations will revert back to the standard  - Effective July 1 - June 30, 2022.

  • Summer Permits – Summer parking permits are now on sale as of April 27. Summer parking permits are valid beginning May 7-Aug. 28, 2021. For more information, please refer to your student email or contact Public Safety via phone at (320) 308-3453 or email parking@stcloudstate.edu 
  • Fall Semester Permits - Fall Semester parking permits will go on sale beginning at 9 a.m. on May 11. Parking permits for fall semester must be ordered online, cash/check payments can be made directly at Public Safety. Fall Semester permits are valid beginning July 1-Dec. 31, 2021. 
  • Student All-Year Permits - Student All-Year parking permits will go on sale beginning at 9 a.m. on May 11. All-Year parking permits must be ordered online, cash/check payments can be made directly at Public Safety. All-Year parking permits are valid beginning July 1, 2021-June 30, 2022. 
  • Evening Parking Permits - Evening parking permits will go on sale beginning May 5 for employees and May 11 for students. Evening permits are effective at 3 p.m. within any surface lot. Evening permit holders are not able to park on campus earlier than 3 p.m. 
  • Employee All-Year Permits  – Employee All-Year parking permits will go on sale beginning at 9 a.m. on May 5. Employee parking permits must be ordered/renewed online, cash/check payments can be made directly at Public Safety. All-Year parking permits are valid beginning July 1, 2021-June 30, 2022. 
  • Pay Lots/Meters – Remain available for any guests paying hourly parking ($0.75/half hour or $1.50/hour). Permit holders are unable to park within a Pay Lot at any given time without making payment. *Pay lots are not considered surface lots
  • Overnight Parking - Overnight parking remains restricted Monday-Friday from 3-7 a.m. within any commuter or employee lot. Residents students can remain parked within their designated lot Monday-Friday from 3-7 a.m. Commuter students are not able to park overnight until the weekend (Saturday-Sunday) with a valid SCSU parking permit.  Employees are not able to park overnight unless otherwise approved by the Public Safety Center (Monday-Sunday). 
  • Weekend Parking - Saturday and Sunday: Any valid SCSU parking permit can be used to park within any surface lot (exceptions: pay lots, 4th avenue ramp or any signed stalls) 

Parking Changes for Students 

Commuter Students

  • K Lot permits are not recommended for purchase at this time. (No Bus Shuttle Services)
  • AA-Lot, C-Lot, N-Lot and Ramp Permits have been made available for purchase.
  • Reminder: Any valid SCSU parking permit is valid Monday-Friday after 3 p.m. to park within any surface lot. (Exceptions: pay lots, resident lots, 15-minute stalls and individually signed parking spaces)
Resident Students
  • K-Overnight parking permits have been discontinued. (No Bus Shuttle Services)
  • Stateview Lot no longer has assigned parking spaces.
  • A1, A2, and A3-Lot are now sold individually. If you purchase a parking permit for A2-Lot, you will be required to park in A2-Lot only.  
  • A1-Lot continues to be reserved for Stearns Hall residents only.
  • A portion of V-Lot permits have now been designated for Shoemaker Hall residents, in addition to E Lot. 

Changes for Employees

  • Next Year's Permits must be renewed by June 30.
  • Payroll deduction will be spread over 26 pay periods.  
  • Payroll deduction can be added at any time.
  • Permits paid via payroll deduction will be automatically renewed and mailed annually. 

All parking permits must be purchased online unless otherwise instructed by the Public Safety Department. Parking permits will be mailed to the mailing address listed within your parking account. To make changes to your mailing address, you can log into your parking account at https://parking.stcloudstate.edu
