Kara Rysavy serves as the Artistic Director of Cantabile Girls’ Choir at St. Cloud State University (SCSU). She began her own choral experience as a 4th grader in her home town of Dubuque, Iowa and hasn’t stopped singing since. She loves sharing her passion for making music with middle school students today.
Kara has worked as a Middle School Choral Educator for the Sartell and St. Cloud School districts for 15 years, as well as an Elementary Music Educator for three years in the Dassel/Cokato School District. Kara graduated from the College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University in 2002, with degrees in vocal performance and K-12 education. She received her Masters of Teaching and Learning from St. Mary’s University in 2007.
When Kara is not teaching, she is running her three boys around to their many activities. She enjoys performing in musical theater, leading the music at her church, working in her health and wellness business, traveling, and snuggling her two bulldogs, Tank and Frank.
