A native of Fresno, California, Jonathan Brandt joined the faculty of St. Cloud State University in the fall of 2018. Jonathan is an active freelance musician in the Twin Cities area and has performed with the Minnesota Opera, VocalEssence, South Dakota Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Fresno Philharmonic, and the New World Symphony.
Jonathan holds degrees from the University of Southern California, Rice University, and the University of Minnesota, where he studied with Boyde Hood, Marie Speziale, and David Baldwin. In addition to teaching at St. Cloud State University, Jonathan is a faculty member at Gustavus Adolphus College, Minnesota State University, Mankato, and the MacPhail Center for Music.
