Alumni and community members are welcome to use the University Library collections for research and study.
Become a Community Patron
Minnesota residents over the age of 18 may obtain an SCSU Library Community Patron card. Visit the Circulation Desk to complete the library card application and set up an account.
Requestor will need to present a current, State of Minnesota-issued photo ID and provide an active email address. Community Patron accounts must be renewed annually.
Borrowing Privileges
Bring selections and your SCSU Library Community Patron card to the Circulation Desk for checkout.

Husky Fetch
Browsing the library catalog from home? Place a Husky Fetch request and we'll collect your books for you and send you an email when they're ready for check out at the library's Circulation Desk.
Online Library Resources
Access the University Library catalog and online databases and journals from on campus. Bring your own device or use a Library Express Computer to access many of the library’s online resources. (Off-campus access to online databases and journals not available for alumni and community members.)
eLibraryMN (ELM) provides Minnesota residents with access to a wide range of information resources, including magazine, journal, newspaper, and encyclopedia articles; images, videos, and audio files; and other digital media. ELM is brought to you by Minitex and supported by funding from the Minnesota Office of Higher Education and the Minnesota Department of Education.

Wired and Wireless Network Connectivity
Connect your laptop to our table-top, wired network ports located throughout the building or connect to SCSU_Public guest WiFi access.
Scanning
Scan stations are available to convert books, articles, documents, or photos into PDF, Word, or JPEG files that can be saved to a flashdrive or scanned to email.
Creativity Commons
Creativity Commons is available for digitization and preservation projects, multimedia production, textile and fabric projects, and print or paper-based projects. The open area is available for all users for fabric, print and paper-based projects. The digitization and special equipment rooms require training and are available when staffed.
