About the Sport Management & Recreation Leadership Internship
The SPRT 444 internship is the capstone experience in the Sport Management & Recreation Leadership major. Students apply the theories, knowledge, research and skills learned in the academic environment in an applied setting.

Eligibility
- Must have completed 35 credits in the major, be in your last year of study
- GPA of 2.75 or higher in the major and a 2.5 GPA overall
- Document your current certification in First Aid, CPR and AED (must be submitted before internship start date)
Internship Details
- Complete a minimum of 400 hours, during a 12-15 week time frame with an approved agency and supervisor.
- Maintain a weekly journal and time log that details hours completed, tasks and projects, goals and accomplishments, and challenges that should be addressed.
- Ensure the site supervisor completes midterm and final performance evaluations.
- Student Intern completes a final performance evaluation/exit interview.
- Student Intern on completion of the internship experience gives a final presentation.
