Gerontology Careers

Falling mortality rates and declining birth rates have combined to create an aging Planet Earth. By 2050, the number of persons 65 and older will be 2.5 times that of the population ages 0-4 — a reversal of the situation in 1950.

Public- and private-sector employers are seeking gerontology-trained professionals to deliver services in areas such as health care, housing, Social Security support, fitness, recreation, retirement, wealth management, and caregiving.
