General Building Services

Each building has General Maintenance Workers (GMWs) assigned to handle daily cleaning, trash removal, and recycling. GMWs are also responsible for special event arrangements, snow removal near buildings, light bulb replacement, and periodic deep cleaning such as window washing, floor waxing, and carpet shampooing. If you encounter a bathroom, hallway, parking ramp, or outdoor area that is not in satisfactory condition, please submit a service request.

Recycling and Trash Removal

Recycling is encouraged across campus. Single-stream recycling receptacles for aluminum, trash, and paper are available throughout University buildings. Any paper without food contamination may be placed, unsorted, into appropriate containers. Provisions are also in place to recycle many other materials, byproducts, and waste generated on campus.

This voluntary system of recycling and trash reduction depends on your participation and your encouragement of others to do the same. Recycling reduces disposal costs for the University, decreases the demand for new resources, and minimizes environmental impact.

Note: Confidential materials must not be placed in regular trash or recycling containers. Shred containers are provided throughout campus for the secure disposal of such documents.

Event Set Up

Assistance with setup or other arrangements related to special events can be coordinated in advance once the event is approved and scheduled. Please note that all support is subject to staff availability.
