Understanding Self & Others

Meeting Days/Times (3 options)

  • 3-4:15 p.m. Wednesday
  • 9:30-10:45 a.m. Thursday
  • 2-3:15 p.m. Thursday

This group offers members the opportunity to increase self-awareness, gain confidence, and improve how they relate to others. It is intended to be a safe and supportive place to hear from others and try out new ideas and ways of being. Building and maintaining healthy identity and relationships can also be helpful in improving mood, managing anxiety, and dealing with long held struggles as well as day-to-day stress.

African American Women: Understanding Self & Others

Meeting Days/Times (2 options)

  • 1-2 p.m. Wednesday
  • Noon-1 p.m. Thursday

This is a supportive group for African American women. Topics may include relationships, understanding self and others, coping with being a student in a predominantly white university, self-esteem, school/work/life balance, family, and other areas that emerge, all discussed in a safe, confidential setting.


Meeting Day/Time

  • 2-3 p.m. Wednesday

This group is for individuals who want to connect and discuss identity, personal growth and challenges, and building relationships in a supportive space for trans and gender nonconforming students. This group is facilitated by a cisgender male counselor.

Mindfulness: 101

Meeting days/times (2 options)

  • 9:30-10 a.m. Monday
  • 12:30-1 p.m. Wednesday

Mindfulness: 101 is a brief mindfulness meditation session. It is an experiential group that includes a briefintroduction to mindfulness concepts with the remainder of the session spent in mindfulness meditation practice guided by the facilitator. The group is open-ended; regular attendance is encouraged but not required. Walk-ins welcome.
