Healthy Huskies

Healthy Huskies are a diverse group of students educating their peers about healthy habits while engaging in fun activities that build a healthy and happy campus.

Huskies 1st Four: Health and Wellness Week (Sept 13-17, 2021)

Monday, Sept. 13

Atwood Farmer's Market- Atwood Mall, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

  • The Farmer's Market at St. Cloud State University features growers and vendors from central Minnesota including products and preserves from St. Cloud State University Community Garden. Everyone welcome. More information: sppick@stcloudstate.edu

Meditation Monday- Eastman 116, 12 p.m.

  • A great way to start out the week! Everyone welcome. 

Tuesday, Sept. 14

Hangin' with Healthy Huskies- Atwood Patio, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

  • Join Healthy Huskies and friends to play games, win prizes, pot a plant, enjoy a mocktail, de-stress with dogs, and relax. Free event for SCSU students, faculty and staff. 

Wednesday, Sept. 15

Wellness Walk, Faculty and Staff- Eastman Streetside Patio 12:10-12:40 p.m. 

Wellness Walk, Students- Eastman Streetside Patio 4-4:30 p.m.

  • Join the Center for Health and Wellness for a 30 minute stroll through the neighborhood. This event is free for everyone. Students that attend will be entered in a drawing for a prize. 

Thursday, Sept. 16

Yoga on the Patio- Eastman Riverside Patio, 12 p.m.

  • Relax and enjoy the beauty of the Mississippi River while practicing yoga. Free event for SCSU students, faculty and staff. 

Friday, Sept. 17

Relaxing Crafts and Activities- In-person Eastman Hall 116, 12-2 p.m. 

Relaxing Crafts and Activities- Online, 12-4 p.m. 

  • Crafts and Activities to unwind from the week. Hosted by Healthy Huskies. Free for Students.

Healthy Huskies is a collaboration between Medical Clinic and UChoose to enhance student success by creating health-supporting environments.

Specific health-promotion initiatives aim to expand protective factors and campus strengths, and reduce personal, campus and community health risk factors.

Staff and peer educators work with campus partners to increase awareness and improve health and wellness for all via marketing and media campaigns, campus outreach and presentations.

  • Be a positive influence on campus
  • Develop skills in public speaking, marketing and outreach
