The Statistical Consulting & Research Center (SCRC), operated by the College of Science and Engineering at St. Cloud State University, provides expert statistical research and data analytics support for students, faculty, and external individuals and organizations. Whether you're working on a grant-funded project, conducting a study, or analyzing survey results, our faculty and graduate students are here to help turn your data into meaningful insights.

Cost
General consultation is provided to St. Cloud State faculty and students free of charge for research projects. For all other clients, our center charges at the following hourly rates:

All clients are offered a free initial one-hour consultation.
Acknowledgement and Co-authorship
The SCRC should be acknowledged in any paper or presentation for which we have provided assistance. Please note that when the SCRC provides a significant contribution, it is expected that consultants will be listed as co-authors on journal publications or paper presentations.
Data Privacy and Confidentiality
The Statistical Consulting & Research Center at St. Cloud State University values client privacy and confidentiality. We do not share project, data, or contact information. Our work is grounded in integrity, professionalism, and respect, ensuring sensitive information is handled with the utmost care.
Research Involving Human Subjects
The center cannot handle or receive data for research that involves collecting data from human subjects without evidence of an Approved or Exempt IRB protocol.
The Institutional Review Board (IRB) is a mandated compliance committee that ensures research, teaching, and testing activities involving human subjects are in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations as well as university policies and assurances.
DETERMINE IF AN IRB REVIEW IS REQUIRED
The IRB process can take up to two weeks to be completed. It is encouraged to start the review process as early as possible.
Qualtrics Accounts
Qualtrics is the licensed survey creation and management software that is used University-wide. SCSU students and staff can apply for a Qualtrics account by submitting a Qualtrics Request Form to the Office of Analytics and Institutional Research.
